About AAPI

Founded in 1982, the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin represents the values and interests of more than 80,000 practicing physicians in the United States.

In addition, it also serves as a platform for more than 40,000 medical students, residents, and fellows of Indian origin in this country. The AAPI YPS/MSRF (Young Physicians Section/Medical Students, Residents and Fellows Section) is a vital and integral part of AAPI and their participation and contributions in the AAPI leadership and field of medicine is highly valued. 1in 7 people in the USA, at some point in their health care, are touched by a physician of Indian origin and we are truly honored for this privilege and responsibility.

AAPI also has a Charitable Foundation (AAPI-CF) that supports free clinics and health fairs in India. To date, more than 7 such clinics are active in various states of India under the AAPI partnership.

Every year, this conglomeration of physicians and physicians in the making get together for a grand Annual AAPI Convention, an exciting and enriching blend of professional programs with innovative CME along with a dash of color in the form of social events and exhibits and features many esteemed guests and dignitaries from the United States and India.
